WCF RIA Services v1.0 and Silverlight Tools for Visual Studio 2010 are Here!

...

Today both the WCF RIA Services v1.0 and the Silverlight 4 Tools for Visual Studio 2010 are officially released! You can download the the tools right here. You can find full details about this release on the download site.

NOTE: To celebrate these releases, Silverlight TV is rolling out 2 shows today instead of our regular schedule.

We have recorded 2 new shows of Silverlight TV to ring in these new releases. The first show is Silverlight TV #27 (see details below) where we have Mark Wilson-Thomas demonstrate several of the new features in the tooling. Then we have Silverlight TV #28 (see more details below, too) where I talk with Nikhil Kothari and Dinesh Kulkarni as they discuss the history of RIA Services, its goals, and the road to its release.

Silverlight 4 Tools for Visual Studio 2010 Launch: New Designer Capabilities (Silverlight TV 27)

In show #27 of Silverlight TV, Mark Wilson-Thomas joins John to announce the launch of the Silverlight 4 Tools for Visual Studio 2010! Mark shows off several impressive, new features in the Visual Studio 2010 designer that work for both Silverlight and WPF development. Some key new features that are covered include:

  • New interactive design surface
  • Working with Styles and Resources
  • Go To Value Definition lets you directly locate nested styles

WCF RIA Services v1.0 Launch! (Silverlight TV 28)

In show #28 of Silverlight TV, Nikhil Kothari and Dinesh Kulkarni join John to announce the official release of WCF RIA Services v1.0! They discuss the road their teams took to create RIA Services, some of the decision points that helped shape the product, and the high level of community involvement in the product’s evolution. They also demonstrate some of the features of RIA Services and give a glimpse at what the future may have in store for it. Dinesh and Nikhil have worked on RIA Services from its beginnings and have seen it evolve through several names (4 by my rough count). Don’t miss this episode with 2 key leaders of RIA Services!

Following the V1 release of RIA Services, there is also a community voting page for v_next features. We’d love to hear your feedback as we plan for future releases.

That link takes you to a download that says it’s RC2 and dated 13th April 2010. Could this be a caching problem or did you just post bad link?
